A new Bacolod Chicken inasal branch opens its doors at the One E-com place in SM Mall of asia. yum yum.

Miah and i went to eat there last saturday... i had bangus sisig, While miah (ever the predictable) had KBL... hindi nya favorite yun... hehehe! actually i ordered it for her because i knew she really likes it. Recently I've been quite partial to their "toto's suman surprise" myself... i like suman and i like mangoes, this dessert brings them both together in one delicious cream soaked package. I haven't tried the chocolate smothered variant yet but I'm pretty sure I'll like it just as well.

Last Saturday we went to SM MOA...
We found this fantastic ice cream place called crepes and creams....an they serve PISTACHIO ice cream.... My uber favorite flavor!!! woohoooo!
I ordered this HUGE dollop of ice cream wrapped in a HUGE piece of warm crepe made expertly in front of you, topped with an equally huge dollop of whipped cream...not the cheap ass low-fat cream they serve you at starbucks mind you, but a scrumptious, dairy-fat laden, artery clogging, REALLY REAL WHIPPED CREAM! never mind the place it's untidy and people pass-by like crazy but when i took that first bite... i didn't care.
It was heavenly... all 29,000 kilocalories of it(at least that's what it felt like)

Now I am NOT advocating parasitism no no. think of it as a form of symbiotic relationships with your friends. You benefit from each others usefulness. Use and be used but never abuse...
and remember pay-up for the services rendered to you and always give credit where credit is due. plus it wont hurt if you remember their birthdays!

I've put together a list of useful allies.(in random order)

FRIENDS YOU GOTTA HAVE

- an ACCOUNTANT for all your moneys worth. if you need help on the ins and outs of taxation a CPA friend can help you out for free consults.... but be polite enough to offer payment for the consult. usually your friend will say its not a fuss.

- a MEDICAL DOCTOR or practitioner whom you can ask why your head aches or your tummy rumbles... its a hassle going to the clinic for a full body workup only to find out you've got indigestion. For minor aches and pains, a simple call to your friend with the M.D would help clear things out. but as they say if symptoms persist.... go to the hospital and maybe your doctor friend can refer you to a specialist at the very least if he insists. (wow rhyme)

- a LAWYER will tell you Miranda is not your one-night- stand's name, instead he will tell you that it's your right. You can count on your "barista" to help you out of sticky situations involving the letter... that is if you really are innocent. This friend is also the one to turn to in case you need a quick "is it legal if i....?" questions.

- a PARTY PLANNER can help you tons when you need help organizing an event.

- a BARTENDER friend can help you booze up all your other friends.

- a GRAPHIC ARTIST or an artist friend is an invaluable help if you need to stir the creative pot and you don't know the recipe.

- a TECHIE can install your latest software or revive your dated, dying and dilapidated computer. Set up your VCR and tell you it's called a TIVO now. Or Bling-out your friendster account if it's that important to you.

Watercolor tips

here are some tips for those who want to get started on using watercolors.

1, draw lightly in pencils or better yet use a lightbox and copy over your finished lineart on to a fresh paper. erasures will ruin the paper's texture.

2, clean water: will give you accurate colors. muddy water: will give you excellent textured backrground color washes.

3, practice on cheap paper.

4, if you want a darker more opaque shade, don't mix a thick batch of paint. instead paint over the area with the same color after it dries. this is called layering ^__^

5, don't use thick watercolors, its meant to be transparent. a thick mixture will crack.

6, use a medium brush. sable is best but you can always use synthetic ones. don't use very fine brushes, you cant load them with much paint. so u can't do washes with them. you can survive with only one medium sized brush, just be sure to wash it thoroughly in between colorchanges.

7, Grays are useful, use it. black is taboo for some artists but i tend to use it sparingly for areas that require deep shadows. purple is the accepted shadow color though.

9. paint from light to dark colors... watercolor is transparent ergo, you can brush black over white, but not white over black. if u really need to paint over something darker, use gouache instead. it works well with normal watercolors.

10. paint a familiar object every now and then. practice it's texture, highlights and shadows. and apply what you discover in your projects.

11. do not be afraid of the media! watercolor may be uncontrolable but the random effects generated by it can be used to your own advantage.

I'm just testing this stuff out. I'm pretty sure I'll like it though.
My blog... should my schedule allow it... will contain my thoughts, poems and prose I've written. rants and raves, and quite a few snippets of my daily life. It can also contain reviews of places I've been to, films I've watched, restaurants, hotels and resorts that sort of stuff. I promise nothing and expect the same. Read if you like... i like writing for the act itself not for the "JOY" it brings to the reader. my articles will be informative to a certain degree, but quite frankly not useful. You are all welcome to read it if it pleases you. You are entitled to your own opinion as am I, so i would like to know your thoughts if you are willing to share them too.

So join me friends.
I certainly hope writing this blog becomes a habit of mine and reading it yours!
